Large French crackled earthenware sculpture of a resting antelope.
The work is signed on the base with ‘LEMANCEAU’ and was produced by the faiencerie Saint Clément (faded stamp with “France”).
It was item n° 7 in the Saint Clément catalogue of 1930.
Charles Lemanceau (1905-1980) was one of the most talented animalists of the Art Deco period.
