Henri Mouynet was a prominent French manufacturer specializing in Art Deco lighting fixtures, particularly chandeliers. These were usually made of nickel-plated or silver-plated bronze or brass (sometimes also wrought iron) in combination with pressed-molded glass.
For the glass, Henri Mouynet collaborated with renowned glass manufacturers such as Degué (David Guéron) and Charles Schneider.
Henri Mouynet took over the company from his father, Marcel Mouynet, and turned it into a large enterprise. In 1926, he built a huge building at 11 rue Etienne Marcel Prolongé, Paris(now rue Roger Verlomme). During the economic crisis of the 1930s, his company ran into financial difficulties and was eventually liquidated in 1937. H. Markhbeinn, whose business was to import and distribute bohemian glasses from eastern Europe, bought the place in the same year.
